Volkswagen to launch Taigun concept at Delhi Motor Show
Volkswagen is preparing to launch its latest concept car at the Delhi Motor Show in February, with the event set to welcome the Taigun SUV.
The model is an updated version of what was released in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and will further the company's foray into the larger vehicle market.
It comes with a 1.0-litre, turbocharged engine, delivering 110 PS, and 175 Nm of torque at 1,500 revs, with a fuel tank capacity of 50 litres and a range of around 1,000 kilometres.
The SUV is surprisingly eco-friendly too, emitting just 110g/km of CO2 which puts it among the top performers in the larger car segment.
Furthermore, it is surprisingly quick for a car of its bulk, going from 0 to 100 kmh in just 9.2 seconds.
The car is perfect for both off-road and the urban jungle, with performance achieved by 17-inch alloy wheels and substantial tyres, while powerful disc brakes and the high levels of torque help to make handling a breeze.
It is designed to be powerful and elegant but with a sporty edge, accentuated by the presence of a rear spoiler, big bumpers and the LED spotlighted roof racks. Short vehicle overhangs increase this image while utilising the interior space more effectively.
A front grille with horizontal lines gives the SUV even more of a muscular presence, with this feature framed by LED daytime running lights.
The rear is instantly recognisable with the installation of an exterior mounted spare tyre and the bottom hatch can be opened indepently to the top glass screen.
Customers could also soon benefit from the huge amount of space the model provides, with 280 litres of capacity in its regular state and 996 litres of capacity with the rear seats folded down.
