Ford has become the first manufacturer to secure the maximum discount of £3,750 under the government’s Electric Car Grant after two models were given Band 1 status.
The Ford Puma Gen-E and the Ford E-Tourneo Courier will both now benefit from the immediate reduction in price as a result of the discount.
The two models are also the first in the Ford range to join the list of eligible vehicles.
“We welcome the government’s decision to accelerate the transition to electric mobility,” Lisa Brankin, Ford UK Chair and Managing Director, said, “and are proud that Ford’s commitment to sustainability has been recognised with the full EV grant.”
News of Ford’s Band 1 status comes alongside a number of other models being added to the list of eligible models that sit in Band 2, with a total of 28 different cars now being offered with a discount as part of the scheme.
