Hyundai Approved Used Standards
The Hyundai Approved Used programme sets clear standards for every car that carries the name. Before it goes on sale, each car is fully prepared by Hyundai factory-trained technicians and Electric Experts, covering over 100 individual checks, so it's ready for the road when you collect it.
Every Approved Used Hyundai comes with a warranty, made up of the balance of the manufacturer warranty for cars less than five years old, or a retailer-supplied warranty option for cars more than five years old. A minimum of 12 months' roadside assistance is included too, renewed each year when the car is serviced by a Hyundai approved retailer.
Approval also confirms the car's background. Vehicle history, provenance, and mileage are all independently validated and certificated, so any concerns are a thing of the past.
What Does Hyundai Approved Used Mean?
Hyundai Approved Used is Hyundai's own quality-assurance scheme for pre-owned cars. It's built around a single idea: that buying a used Hyundai should carry much of the same reassurance as buying new.
Here's what comes with every Hyundai Approved Used example in our stock:
| Benefit | Detail |
|---|---|
| Over 100 individual checks | Full preparation by Hyundai factory-trained technicians and Electric Experts |
| Manufacturer-backed warranty | Balance of manufacturer warranty on cars under five years old, or a retailer warranty option on older cars |
| 12 months' roadside assistance | Included as standard, renewed each year the car is serviced by a Hyundai approved retailer |
| EV battery check | Battery condition assessed by specially trained Electric Experts on electric and hybrid models |
| History, provenance, and mileage checks | Independently validated and certificated before sale |
| Driveaway insurance | Free cover from collection until midnight the next day, extendable to five days on request |
| Flexible finance | PCP, HP, and PCH options to suit your circumstances |
| Vertu 14-day money-back guarantee | Exchange or refund if the car doesn't meet your expectations within 14 days |
Hyundai Promise: A Step Up in Approved Used
Alongside standard Approved Used cars, the Hyundai Promise programme offers an elevated tier for younger, lower-mileage vehicles. To qualify as a Hyundai Promise car, it must be no older than 36 months and have covered fewer than 60,000 miles.
Hyundai Promise cars come with a minimum of 24 months' Hyundai warranty, with the option to upgrade to a five-year Hyundai warranty at additional cost. They also add extra reassurance: a one-year excess voucher that pays back a set amount of your insurance excess after an accident claim, a 30-day or 1,000-mile exchange agreement, and a guaranteed trade-in offer on your current car, all subject to terms and conditions.
If you're not sure whether a particular car is a Hyundai Promise vehicle, our colleagues will confirm it and talk you through what's included.
Approved Used vs Standard Used Hyundai: What's the Difference?
All of our used Hyundai stock goes through a thorough preparation process. Our colleagues inspect and prepare every car before it's offered for sale, so you're always buying a vehicle that's ready for the road.
The Hyundai Approved Used programme goes a step further. It adds Hyundai's own standards on top: full preparation by factory-trained technicians and Electric Experts across over 100 checks, a manufacturer-backed warranty, 12 months' roadside assistance, and certificated history and mileage checks.
For buyers who want the reassurance of Hyundai's own sign-off, Approved Used stock is the clear choice, with Hyundai Promise adding even more cover on younger cars. Either way, our colleagues will talk you through every option.
