The JAECOO E5 Electric swaps fuel stops for instant performance. With 204hp, 288Nm of torque, and 248 miles of WLTP range from its 60.9kWh LFP battery, the E5 covers most working weeks without a charge. 0-62mph in 7.7 seconds means joining a motorway or clearing a junction never feels like an effort. DC fast charging at up to 80kW replenishes from 30% to 80% in just 27 minutes.

Step up to the JAECOO 7 Petrol and the range expands considerably. The JAECOO 7 SHS-H brings self-charging hybrid technology to the J7 – no plug required, no change to how you refuel. Its 1.5T TGDI engine runs at 44.5% thermal efficiency, the highest in its class, and delivers 221hp with a combined fuel economy of up to 51.8mpg (WLTP). The electric motor handles most low-speed work quietly, while the petrol engine steps in seamlessly when needed – making the JAECOO 7 hybrid the ideal choice for those who want efficiency without the charging routine.

Choose the JAECOO 7 SHS-P plug-in hybrid and you get 56 miles of pure electric range (WLTP) – enough for most daily commutes without touching the petrol engine. When the battery depletes, the total range extends to 745 miles combined. Compatible with rapid DC charging, it replenishes from 30% to 80% in just 20 minutes.

At the top of the range, the JAECOO 8 SHS-P is a different proposition entirely. With 422hp and 560Nm delivered through a 3-speed dedicated hybrid transmission and torque vectoring AWD, 0-62mph takes 5.8 seconds. Yet the JAECOO J8 also offers 83 miles of EV range (WLTP) and over 700 miles combined – flagship performance with the running costs and daily usability of a plug-in hybrid.

What Is JAECOO's Super Hybrid System?

SHS stands for Super Hybrid System. It comes in two forms: SHS-H (self-charging hybrid) and SHS-P (plug-in hybrid).

Both are built around a 1.5T TGDI petrol engine engineered specifically for hybrid use, paired with a dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT) that manages the shift between electric and petrol drive automatically.

Unlike a conventional hybrid, the system is designed as a hybrid from the outset – not a petrol car with an electric motor retrofitted. In practice, it drives more like an electric car than a petrol one, with quiet, smooth power at everyday speeds and the confidence of a full tank for longer journeys.

JAECOO Interior and Technology

A 1.1-metre panoramic sunroof floods the cabin with natural light, and ambient lighting lets you set the mood your way. The column-mounted gear selector on SHS models gives the cabin a cleaner, more considered feel – more EV than petrol in its layout.

The JAECOO 8 interior is a proper statement. Dual 12.3-inch curved screens span the dashboard in a single seamless panel. A Sony 14-speaker audio system including dedicated headrest speakers surrounds every occupant in sound. CDC adaptive suspension reads the road continuously, adjusting the dampers in real time so the cabin stays composed regardless of what the surface beneath is doing. Both the driver and front passenger seats feature a massage function as standard on the Luxury grade.

The Executive adds real leather upholstery, suede headliner and sun visors, second-row captain's chairs with five massage modes, and rear window blinds for privacy. The J8 also carries a V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) function, supplying up to 6.6kW of power to external devices – useful for camping, events, or anywhere a power outlet isn't available.

Across the range, the JAECOO ADAS suite provides comprehensive driver assistance as standard, including adaptive cruise control (ACC), autonomous emergency braking (AEB), blind spot detection (BSD), lane departure warning (LDW), and a driving monitor system (DMS). The J5 carries 19 active safety features in total. Towing capacity reaches up to 1,500kg on J7 models and 1,600kg on the J8 – practical reassurance for those who need it.
