New Alpine Cars for Sale & On Finance

Alpine has spent more than fifty years chasing lightness, agility and motorsport-bred performance, from the A110 Berlinette's win at the 1971 Monte Carlo Rally through to a modern Formula 1 team on the grid today. That same philosophy now carries into Alpine's first fully electric road cars. The new Alpine range at Vertu currently spans the compact, hot hatch-inspired A290 and the all-wheel drive sport fastback A390, with more electric models due to join the line-up as Alpine works towards seven new models by 2030.

Whichever model suits your driving, a Vertu Alpine dealership can talk you through specification, finance and current deals.

What Are Alpine Cars Like To Drive?

Alpine's current UK range covers two distinct types of car: a compact electric hot hatch and a larger electric sport fastback SUV. Both are built around the same idea of lightness, agility and motorsport-derived engineering, translated into two very different shapes.

The Alpine A290 recognises its motorsport roots inside and out, placing every occupant at the heart of its driving experience. Two tunes of electric motor deliver up to 220hp (160kW), with 0-100km/h (0-62mph) achieved in as little as 6.4 seconds on the most powerful GTS version. A 52kWh battery gives a combined WLTP range of up to 380km (236 miles), with rapid charging from 15-80% in around 30 minutes.

Underneath, a sport-tuned Alpine chassis with hydraulic bump stops keeps the ride composed, while exclusive 19-inch rims with specialist Michelin tyre compounds are built for precise cornering. An F1-inspired steering wheel sits at the centre of the "Feel at One" cockpit, complete with an OV button for instant maximum power and an RCH dial for selectable brake regeneration. Dual-tone Nappa leather with the Tricolore flag lifts the interior further, alongside a Devialet audio system with nine speakers including a subwoofer.

The Alpine A390 is an electric sport fastback like no other, and the first all-wheel drive Alpine. Intelligent Alpine Active Torque Vectoring makes a true virtue of its innovative three e-motor setup, with grip, control and everyday safety making the A390 the most versatile Alpine yet.

As a five-seat sport fastback, the A390 offers up to 1,643 litres of luggage volume with the rear seats folded, making it the most versatile Alpine of all. Its feel and feedback draw inspiration from the Alpine A110, delivering sports car sensations in an elegant fastback design, with an exclusive Alpine steering wheel inspired by F1 and an overtake button that brings thrilling sensations to the road.

Alpine Interior and Technology

Technology carries through both models. The A290 and A390 are built around Alpine's "Feel at One" cockpit, connecting driver and machine through an F1-inspired steering wheel and a widescreen digital instrument display that switches between distinct designs, each staying true to Alpine heritage with a mountain silhouette.

Both cars run the connected Alpine-Portal multimedia system with Google built-in, giving hands-free help with calls, music and specific vehicle functions through Google Assistant, along with Google Maps to help locate charging stations along a journey. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available too, replicating smartphone apps in high definition.

Alpine Telemetrics offers data analysis and coaching through a dedicated smartphone app, with live monitoring of lap times, g-force, throttle and brake performance, and challenges based on Alpine's motorsport DNA to help drivers sharpen their skills and progress like a real racer.

Both models come with a comprehensive suite of advanced driver safety systems as standard, including contextual adaptive cruise control, LED matrix vision headlights, 360-degree around view cameras, and automatic emergency braking, with the A390 offering 32 advanced driver safety systems in total.

New Alpine Frequently Asked Questions

Where Are Alpine Cars Made?

The Alpine A290 and A390 are built at Manufacture Alpine Dieppe Jean Rdl in France, the same facility that has produced the iconic Alpine A110 since it began. That heritage runs through both cars, with French design and engineering carried through from the badge on the tailgate to the premium body colours on offer.

Every Alpine sold in the UK is finished to the same French build standard, whichever trim or battery size you choose.

Are Alpine Cars Fully Electric?

Yes. Both the Alpine A290 and Alpine A390 are fully electric, producing zero CO2 emissions when driving. The A290 offers up to 236 miles of WLTP combined range from its 52kWh battery, while the A390 offers up to 345 miles from its larger 89kWh battery, depending on wheel size and trim.

Alpine's current range is part of a wider shift to electric power, with more fully electric models due to join the line-up as the brand works towards seven new models by 2030.

What Is Alpine Active Torque Vectoring?

Alpine Active Torque Vectoring is the technology behind the A390's three-motor, all-wheel drive setup. It distributes torque intelligently between the front and rear motors for refined handling both on the road and on track, making the A390 the first all-wheel drive Alpine.

With one motor at the front and two at the rear, the system helps the A390 balance grip, control and everyday safety without losing the agility Alpine is known for.

What Is Alpine Telemetrics?

Alpine Telemetrics is a dedicated smartphone app offering live vehicle data, coaching from Alpine experts, and driving challenges based on Alpine's motorsport DNA. Drivers can track lap times, monitor g-force, throttle and brake performance, and progress their skills much like a real racer.

The A290 GT Performance and GTS come with Alpine Telemetrics Premium as standard, while the A390 GTS adds Alpine Telemetrics Expert, the most advanced version of the system.

How Fast Is the Alpine A390?

The Alpine A390 GTS accelerates from 0-62mph in 3.9 seconds, with a top speed of 136mph, powered by three electric motors delivering up to 470hp and 824Nm of torque. The entry-level A390 GT and Premiere Edition offer 400hp and 661Nm, with 0-62mph taking 4.8 seconds and a top speed of 124mph.

Both versions drive all four wheels through Alpine Active Torque Vectoring, so the extra power on the GTS is delivered with the same level of control across the range.

What Warranty Does a New Alpine Come With?

Alpine's high-voltage battery on the A290 and A390 is covered by an 8-year or 100,000-mile warranty for continued peace of mind. This sits alongside Alpine's standard manufacturer warranty covering the rest of the car.

Speak to your local Vertu dealership for full warranty terms on your chosen model and trim.

How Much Does an Alpine Cost?

Alpine pricing depends on which model, A290 or A390, and which trim you choose, from A290 GT through to A390 GTS, along with any optional paint, wheels or Atelier offers added. The most accurate way to see current pricing for your preferred configuration is a personalised quotation from your local dealership.

Contact your nearest Vertu Alpine dealership for an up-to-date quote, or explore finance options including PCP, HP and PCH to see how the monthly cost compares across trims.

Are There Alpine Finance Options Available at Vertu?

Yes, Vertu offers a full range of finance options on new Alpine cars, including PCP, HP and PCH, so you can spread the cost in a way that suits your budget.
