Geely’s burgeoning UK line-up is continuing to grow following the unveiling of a new large family SUV that will slot in at the head of its range, the Geely Monjaro EM-i.
Sitting above the electric Geely EX5 and PHEV Geely Starray EM-i SUVs, the Monjaro EM-i also comes hot on the heels of the economical Geely EX2 electric city car to increase its offerings in the UK to four models in little more than 12 months.
At 4.8m in length, the Monjaro EM-i therefore has the likes of the Skoda Kodiaq and Peugeot 5008 in its crosshairs as Geely looks to make a dent in the popular large family SUV market with a promise of expansive space and frugal-minded technology.
2027 Geely Monjaro EM-i: PHEV, Economy & AWD
At its heart is a 1.5-litre petrol engine mated to either an 18.4kWh or 29.8kWh battery depending on the specification, which thanks to Geely’s EM-i ‘Super Hybrid’ set-up will return electric only range of up to 70-miles.
Moreover, the Monjaro EM-i is all-wheel drive with genuine off-road ability for those who enjoy family adventures off the beaten track, a feature that is assisted further by its Pure, Hybrid, Power and Snow driving modes.
2027 Geely Monjaro EM-i: Specification & Warranty
As the flagship in the Geely range, the Monjaro EM-i adopts a plush approach inside with premium upholstery on the seating, dashboard and door panels, while the fascia is dominated by a 15.4-inch central touchscreen flanked by a 12.3-inch instrument cluster.
A vast 25.6-inch head-up display is also available as an option, as is a high-end 16-speaker sound system, while the specification list also includes V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) functionality, a panoramic sunroof that can be opened,
In terms of space, the Monjaro EM-i’s tailgate opens up to reveal a 633-litre boot, which can be extended to 1,532-litres with the rear seats folded down.
The whole package is complemented by an 8-year/125,000-mile manufacturer’s warranty, including an 8-year warranty for the battery.
Prices are yet to be announced but the Geely Monjaro EM-i range is expected to be priced competitively versus its main rivals.
