Nissan has confirmed UK pricing for the latest version of the British-built Qashqai that comes fitted with an enhanced e-POWER powertrain.

The new powertrain has been developed by Nissan to produce better fuel efficiency and reduced emissions, with the latest version of the hugely popular Qashqai now benefitting from a potential range of nearly 750 miles as a result.

Service intervals have also increased by 3,000 miles in a move that will reduce costs for motorists.

However, the biggest boost for potential buyers comes with the purchase of the car itself, with none of the grades available being priced higher than the outgoing variant.

Acenta Premium, N-Connecta and Tekna+ specification cars will all be launched at the same price point as the existing car, whilst the N-Design and the Tekna will come in £50 lower than the current car.

The wheel of the new Qashqai e-POWER are driven solely by the electric motor fitted to the car, which is charged via the 1.5 litre turbo-charged engine that is used only to generate electricity.

That means drivers benefit from an EV-like driving experience, but retain the convenience of being able to refuel at a traditional petrol station rather than needed to utilise a plug-in charger.

“We are tremendously excited to bring the latest version of our incredible e-POWER technology to UK customers – and we’re very proud it’s being built right here in the UK,” Nissan GB managing director James Taylor said.

“Now with significantly improved fuel efficiency, refinement, performance and emissions – delivered at no extra cost to customers - we are confident that the multi-award-winning Qashqai e-POWER will continue to be one of the UK’s most popular cars.’’
