Heritage

Heritage

The story begins in 1946, with the Cooper Car Company founded by Charles Cooper and son John. The two built their first racing cars in a small garage in Surbiton, England.

From here, the company went on to produce single-seat F3 racing cars, featuring a revolutionary rear engine. These became a go-to for drivers like John Cooper – winner of the F1 World Championship and Constructors’ Championship.

Heritage

In 1961, the first MINI Cooper arrived with a more powerful engine, new brakes, and sharper steering. Following on from the success of the F3. This became a household name by 1964, with the MINI Cooper competing against more powerful sedans and claiming victory at Monte Carlo in ’64, ’65, and ’67.

Come the twenty-first century, MINI JCW found itself on a roll of rallying success. From numerous wins in the classic Dakar Rally races, to the MINI JCW Rally and 2019 FIA World Cup for Cross-Country Rallies. In 2020, the new MINI JCW GP brought the fastest-ever MINI to UK roads, with a 2.0-litre 306PS four-cylinder turbo engine reaching 0-100km/h in 5.2 seconds.
