New Volkswagen ID.7 To Feature Smart Air Conditioning Technology

Easy activation
Imagine entering your vehicle and finding out that it’s already set at the perfect temperature for you. With the all-new Volkswagen ID.7, this is possible!
The ID.7 can activate the air conditioning before you even enter the vehicle as soon as the key is detected nearby. The ID.7 cleverly monitors weather conditions, creating a cool interior on hot days, and a warm, cosy interior on colder days.
This means there is no need to wait inside your vehicle after turning on the ignition to achieve the temperature you want. This is especially handy on those chilly winter mornings. Inside the cockpit, you can also easily control the air vents for optimal air distribution and target specific areas of the cabin for improved comfort.
You can do this by either using the functions on the uppermost level or using voice commands. Save your preferred voice commands as special wishes, to activate your ideal temperature with a simple command, such as “Hello Volkswagen, my hands are cold.”
This will then prompt warm air to be directed at your hands on the steering wheel for up to five minutes to help you get warm.
Whatever the weather
Intuitive and responsive, the new Volkswagen ID.7 will be here for you whatever the weather. The new electric saloon cleverly prioritizes your comfort by analysing the weather conditions.
Monitoring the position of the sun, the ID.7 detects the angle of sunlight and match it with high outside temperature, adapting the air conditioning to address the warmest zones of the vehicle and where passengers are seated.
The new ID.7 is the first Volkswagen model to offer such capabilities, using a sensor in the windscreen to monitor and respond to the angle of sunlight.
Similarly, when the door is opened on a day with high outside temperatures, the smart air vents in the cockpit will quickly distribute air around the vehicle. The intelligent technology uses dynamic horizontal movements to help cool the interior down faster.
Personalised to your needs
Keeping the user at the focus, the new ID.7 will allow drivers to save individual user preferences as ‘Personalisations’ within the system. This will be handy when there may be different people driving the car.
Ensuring easy operation is also a new 15” infotainment screen, giving drivers the option to control air conditioning and other features at the touch of a button.
Drivers will be able to adjust and save settings for strength and direction of airflow individually and control the temperature using backlit touch sliders.
The new Volkswagen ID.7 will be given its worldwide reveal in the second quarter of the year, currently concealed using a camouflaged concept design.
The sixth model to join Volkswagen’s all-electric ID. range, the ID.7 is also the second model following the ID.4 to be based on the modular electric drive matrix (MEB).
Following its market launch in China and Europe, it will then be launched in North America in 2024.
