Yes, there are several ways the government is providing incentives to prospective electric vehicle buyers.
Introduced in July 2025, this is the main incentive the UK government offers to buy an electric vehicle (EV). The Electric Car Grant (ECG) provides a discount of up to £3,750 on the purchase price of eligible new EVs. The discount offered varies from model to model, and there are some exemptions.
