Step Inside the New Mercedes-AMG SL
The interior of the upcoming, all-new Mercedes-AMG SL has been revealed, and it’s fair to say we think Mercedes fans will be pretty blown away.
The premium manufacturer’s answer to the likes of the Porsche 911 Cabriolet and Jaguar F-Type Convertible was never going to be understated. With its performance AMG genes, the new interior perfectly combines a feeling of luxury, sportiness and importantly - comfort.
The new SL is laid out in a 2+2 design; the first time we’ve seen this since the R129 model back in 1989. The two small rear seats are ideal and add everyday usability to the vehicle - with enough space for children to sit, or simply to store and transport luggage. If this extra seating in the back isn’t needed, Mercedes have added draught-stop technology to prevent cool breezes hitting the necks of the front passenger and driver.
Interior hardware and software have been extensively enhanced. A large 11.9-inch multimedia centre console in the front is hard to miss – this is ideal for navigation needs and can be tilted to improve visibility and reduce glare. An additional MBUX infotainment system which comes in the form of a 12.3-inch instrument cluster will take care of all other vehicle entertainment, safety and connectivity needs. Clear display graphics on these systems mean it’s all incredibly user friendly and easy to control vehicle functions.
An optional head up display can also show the vehicle’s surroundings in 3D, meaning drivers needn’t take their eyes off the road, for optimal safety.
Diamond-quilted Nappa leather seats available in a choice of single or two-tone design provide ultimate comfort and style, a 64-colour ambient lighting setup allows different moods to be set inside the cabin, and a second-to-none Burmester audio system provides top quality sound throughout the vehicle. These features all help create a truly deluxe interior.
