Mercedes-Benz Reveal UK Pricing and Specification for New Citan

The panel van is available to order now from £21,310, with first deliveries coming soon, boasting a range of features designed to make your workday even easier.

Looking for a new Mercedes van? Perfect timing!

The new Mercedes-Benz Citan pricing and specification has been revealed. With orders now open in the UK and first deliveries arriving this month, you could get yours soon.

Read on to learn all about what it has to offer.

Design

The new Mercedes-Benz Citan has been given an upgraded design both inside and out, available in compact L1 and L2 versions, with the latter expected to be revealed at a later date.

Though it may be small in size, the new Citan has lots to offer, with generous space and a selection of trims offering stylish, luxurious features.

The Progressive trim offers a multifunction steering wheel, armrest with stowage compartment, interior LED lighting, heat-insulating glass all around and a smartphone integration package to keep you connected.

You will also receive heated exterior mirrors, and electric front side windows, 16” 5-twin-spoke design wheels, and a double-wing rear door opening to 180 degrees.

Meanwhile, the Premium trim offers all the standard features of the Citan Progressive with some added luxuries such as LED headlamps and front fog lamps, 16” alloy wheels, body-coloured bumpers and metallic paint, and a high gloss black and chrome exterior trim.

Safety

As a brand renowned for their safety credentials, the new Citan is no exception with intelligent safety systems such as Active Brake Assist, Hill Start Assist, Attention Assist, and optional Blind Spot Assist to enhance your control.

Attention Assist cleverly detects drowsiness in the driver and notifies you to take a break when needed, especially handy for longer journeys in the new Citan. Active Lane Keeping Assist also helps keep you perfectly centred in your lane - particularly useful for motorway driving to ensure a smoother, calmer journey.

With six airbags and a reversing camera as standard, you can feel safe and secure inside the new Citan, while helping ensure the safety of those near or around your vehicle.

Technology

Designed for the demands of modern motoring, the new Citan understands the importance of a connected driving experience, incorporating the latest technology.

From the MBUX multimedia system with DAB and seven-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, to wireless charging available as an extra. It’s no wonder the Citan was a joint winner of the International Van of the Year title in 2022.

With ECO stop/start functionality as standard, the Citan also takes efficiency into account, automatically stopping the engine while stationary for increased control, comfort, and safety while reducing idling.

The THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control system allows you to adjust and control the temperature, airflow, and distribution independently with the touch of a button – because comfort is key.

Not neglecting convenience, the new Citan also makes every-day loading and unloading easier with two LED light strips under the roof to improve visibility inside the compartment, so that you can see clearly by day or night.

The L1 version has a load length of up to 1,806mm and a 667kg payload capacity with the Progressive trim, and a 666kg payload with the Premium trim.

You will also receive a maximum gross train weight of up to 3,500kg giving you plenty of capacity to transport larger goods.

Performance

The new L1 Citan and upcoming L2 version will both feature a 1.5-litre diesel engine, producing 95hp and 260 Nm torque for nippy, efficient performance and a combined WLTP fuel economy of 54.3mpg.

Two transmission options are currently available, including a six-speed manual or seven-speed automatic gearbox.

The fully-electric eCitan is also set to make an appearance offering zero-emissions, eco-efficient driving, which will be launched at a later date, making the Citan range flexible and practical according to your driving preferences.

Sarah Palfreyman, Mercedes-Benz Vans UK Sales Director, said:

“In the new Citan, van operators have a vehicle that exemplifies all the renowned Mercedes-Benz virtues of reliability, safety, and cost-effective performance, backed by a national network of dedicated Dealers who provide the highest standards of customer care.

It’s much more than just a great small van, though. The services available through Mercedes me once again demonstrate that we’re dedicated to supporting our customers by doing all we can to keep their business moving.”

Orders are now open for the new Citan, with first deliveries coming shortly.
