Shedden and Neal targeting podium at Snetterton

Honda Yuasa Racing duo Gordon Shedden and Matt Neal are excitedly preparing for the next round of the British Touring Car Championships at Snetterton this coming weekend.

Following the mid-season hiatus, the pair both sit on podium spots in the championships, with Shedden at the top of the table, whilst Neal is 22 points behind in third place.

Both drivers have previously won at Snetterton and so are hoping to place on the podium at the Norfolk track.

The pair are racing in the new 2015 Honda Civic Type R whose road-going sibling has just been released. The hot hatch has proven its potency on the track, and is expected to perform well at Snetterton.

2012 BTCC champion Shedden commented: "I'm looking forward to getting back into the BTCC groove. Snetterton usually produces some good racing, and I'm confident we'll be in the mix. Ultimately, we need to be competitive everywhere if we want to win the title, and I'm excited about the second half of the season as there are a lot of tracks coming up that I think will really suit the Civic Type R."

His teammate, Neal, added: "I'm really excited about getting back into it and rolling our sleeves up again. I'm a big fan of Snetterton; I like the challenge posed by the new layout, and you need a good all-round car there which is where the Civic Type R really scores! We go to Snetterton targeting podiums and wins that's where we need to be."
