Audi Reveals Third Generation Q3
Audi has revealed the third generation of the popular Q3 ahead of the compact SUV being launched later in the summer.
The new Q3 will start from £38,300 OTR for the mild hybrid petrol option, with the car also offered with both a diesel engine and as a plug-in hybrid.
The plug-in option will allow drivers to complete up to 74 miles of electric only driving and is described by Audi as being ‘more efficient than ever before’ thanks to a larger 25.7kWh battery – almost double the capacity of the one fitted to the outgoing model.
The battery can be charged from 10 to 80 per cent in less than half an hour in the right conditions.
"With a total of more than two million vehicles sold worldwide since the launch of the first generation, the Audi Q3 is one of our best-selling models and has a high status in our product portfolio,” Gernot Dollner, CEO of AUDI AG, said.
“With the third generation of the Audi Q3, we are renewing an important model family as part of our product initiative and strengthening our range with a powerful plug-in hybrid and efficient combustion engines.
“The new model combines efficiency, driving dynamics, and comfort."
As well as the revised design, the new Q3 features enhanced suspension to improve the driving experience, including a system with damper control that can react to the characteristics of the road – adjusting the different shock absorbers as required in a fraction of a second.
Various safety features are included as standard, such as reversing camera, park assist plus with 360 display, adaptive cruise control and fatigue warning system.
Orders can be placed for the Q3 TFSI and TDI in July, and the Q3 e-hybrid in August.
