The first product of the BMW’s so-called ‘Neue Klasse’ era, the BMW iX3 sees the German marque apply everything it has gleaned from its first generation of electric models and apply those learnings to a practical, stylish and ever-so popular premium SUV package.

The spectacular result sees the iX3 boast a huge step forward in EV efficiency that pushes range up to a massive 500-miles.

Not only that, the iX3 looks fantastic, has a high-end, high-tech interior and is immensely spacious – it might just be the best family car BMW has ever produced.

BYD Atto 3

Available to Order Now

The BYD Atto 3 might not shout about it, but the first generation of this understated B-segment SUV – which headed up the marque’s arrival on UK shores in 2022 – would go on to trigger an avalanche of models from China hitting the market in recent years.

Four years on and the game has moved on significantly, so the Atto 3 is getting a major overhaul to reflect this with figures that could well establish it as the standard in a very competitive class.

Sitting on a brand-new electric platform, the Atto 3 gets a fresh 74.8kWh battery that ups power significantly to 308bhp or 442bhp yet still deliver range of 317-miles and 292-miles respectively.

Beyond that, the Atto 3 will continue to be a spacious, very well-equipped and excellent value option against talented opposition.

3 - Cupra.jpg

Cupra Raval

Autumn 2026

The runaway success of Cupra, SEAT’s sportier, more premium sub-brand, has been one of the more positive stories to come out of the automotive industry in recent years.

Such success has also bred a lot of confidence from the marque, which explains why it has the swagger to enter the competitive small electric hatchback space with the all-new Cupra Raval.

Expected to offer 250-miles of range with hot hatch performance – and sporty looks to match – the Raval is destined to be a trendier option over the sister Volkswagen ID.Polo, yet also be a great value alternative to the MINI Cooper.

4 - Jaguar.jpg

Jaguar GT

Arriving early-2027

Jaguar’s bold decision to take a step back with a view to launching an entirely new era for the storied British marque has suitably shifted towards huge anticipation for its big comeback model, the Jaguar GT.

Revealed in concept form in 2024, the GT has been rolled out in a steady stream of teasers and public events, but things are now beginning to ramp up for production.

The electric ‘grand tourer’ represents an brand-new start for Jaguar – a new platform, new design ethos, new electric architecture and even a new logo. The result is a car that is set to boast more than 1000bhp, high-end luxury and a plush driving experience.

3 - Kia.jpg

Kia EV2

Arriving Spring 2026

A pioneer of the electric car movement, what started with the Kia EV6 is now a wide and diverse range of zero-emission models from the Korean marque.

The latest addition will also be the smallest with the Kia EV2 set to rival the likes of the Renault 4 and Hyundai INSTER as a tough-looking, SUV-inspired small electric hatchback.

Distilling many of the strong suits from larger models like the EV3 and EV9 into a compact, affordable package, the EV2 gets the choice of two batteries – 42.2kWh and 61kWh – will maximum range of up to 277-miles on offer.

5 - K4.jpg

Kia K4

Available to Order Now

Kia might have been busy developing its all-electric range of models, but it hasn’t forgotten its more conventional ICE range as demonstrated by the arrival of the sharp-looking Kia K4.

A replacement for the Ceed, the K4 brings a welcome injection of distinctive styling and immense practicality to a class that has dwindled in the face of SUVs and electric power.

Indeed, if you don’t have the facilities for charging, want a car that drives closer to the road and can accommodate five comfortably, the K4 – available as a hatchback or estate – is an engaging alternative to the Volkswagen Golf or Vauxhall Astra.

6 - Seltos.jpg

Kia Seltos

Arriving Summer 2026

Kia is certainly keeping itself busy in 2026 with myriad new or facelifted models set to reach dealerships over the coming months, including the Kia Seltos.

A new addition to what is already a broad SUV line-up, the Seltos slots in between the Niro and Sportage with a view to providing an affordable, yet practical alternative to the latter model.

Looking to build on the success of the Sportage – one of the UK’s best-selling models outright – the Seltos will offer petrol and hybrid power options and come with a competitive price tag.

7 - 6e.jpg

Mazda 6e

Arriving Summer 2026

The Mazda 6 family saloon returns in 2026 boasting electric power for the first time and a more premium sheen to take on higher-end models like the BYD Seal and BMW i4.

Badged the Mazda 6e, it is the Japanese firm’s first all-EV model, so it has taken the opportunity to complement its new frugal, refined powertrain by wrapping it in a svelte new look and designing a high-tech and stylish interior too.

Interestingly, a recent change of direction will see the Mazda 6e offered in the UK with a new 78kWh battery that offers 348-miles of range but do so with a starting price of just £38,995 – well below its prospective rivals.

8 - Micra.jpg

Nissan Micra

The Nissan Micra is back and this time it comes with ultra-efficient electric power, while it has also taken a significant turn upmarket over its predecessors.

Former generations of the Micra could be described as cute if a bit anonymous, but while the latest model retains many of its predecessor’s more adorable features, it now also stands out among the small electric hatchback crowd.

Under the skin, a choice of 40kWh or 52kWh batteries deliver 200 and 260-miles respectively, while the high-end interior is brimming with smart tech.

Better yet, the Leaf is also immensely practical and comfortable for the entire family, while clever technological touches include new cutting-edge infotainment displays.

10 - 208.jpg

Peugeot E-208 GTi

Arriving Summer 2026

Many cars have worn the hallowed ‘GTi’ badge over the years, but it is a close-run thing between the Volkswagen Golf and the Peugeot 205 to determine which is the best to have done so.

For 2026, however, Peugeot will deliver another salvo to the argument by not only reviving the GTi badge for its current small hatchback – the 208 – but transform it with electric hot hatch performance.

The result is the Peugeot E-208 GTi boasting a fiery 280bhp, 345Nm of torque and a proposed 0-62mph time of under six seconds, all in a compact, agile package that promises driving thrills.

And if that wasn’t enough, check out those pepper pot wheel trims that are a proper throwback to the original icon…

11 - Twingo.jpg

Renault Twingo

Arriving Late 2026

While the UK never got the first-generation Renault Twingo – a car that helped mobilise many in its native France – we will get the reborn and rebooted new model later in 2026.

Much like the critically acclaimed Renault 5, the French marque has used the original Twingo as inspiration for the revived version… and not just in the cute exterior and interior design.

Indeed, the new Twingo – much like its ancestor - will be pitched as a funky, frugal and affordable city car that puts low running costs and value-for-money at its core without sacrificing any of that feelgood factor.

12 - Polo.jpg

Volkswagen ID.Polo

Arriving Autumn 2026

As far as new models for 2026 go, the Volkswagen ID.Polo isn’t just the most significant launch of the year, it could become one of the most significant new car launches of all time.

A nameplate going back decades, the fact Volkswagen has married the iconic ‘Polo’ name to its ‘ID’ range of electric models is indicative of how important this new model is towards evolving the supermini towards a cleaner, more efficient – but still affordable – future.

Volkswagen promises competitive and attainable prices for the ID.Polo, while retaining the quality and refinement the current model is renowned for, but offer it with an emissions-free, cheap to run electric powertrain.
