Chorley School Holds Vehicle Extravaganza Day With Community Support

Children at a Chorley school for pupils with additional needs were given a hands-on encounter with emergency vehicles and luxury cars, thanks to support from local businesses and organisations.
Westmorland School, an independent specialist school supporting children with ADHD, autism and mental health needs, welcomed vehicles from Vertu Jaguar Land Rover Bolton, North West Blood Bikes, the ambulance service, police, fire brigade and coastguard.
Alongside having a rare opportunity to explore emergency and specialist vehicles in a safe, supportive environment, the day included various interactive games and competitions to engage pupils and support the school’s commitment to inclusive, hands-on learning.
Vertu Jaguar Land Rover Bolton brought the latest editions of a Range Rover Sport, and a Defender OCTA.
It offered the children an opportunity to take on a football challenge to win a LEGO Land Rover and a signed Bolton Wanderers football and shirt.
Paul Nichols, Fleet Sales Manager at Vertu Jaguar Land Rover Bolton, said: “We’re incredibly proud to have been part of such a meaningful day. Seeing the children’s faces light up as they explored the vehicles and took part in the activities was a real highlight. It’s a privilege to support a school doing such vital work in the community.”
Paul Wilkinson, Assistant Head Teacher at Westmorland School, said: “We’re so grateful to Vertu and all the organisations which gave their time and energy to make this day so special. These experiences are invaluable for our pupils’ development and wellbeing, and are a chance to help build their confidence in a way that combines learning with fun.”
