The new Citroen Ds5 will boast an aviation-styled cockpit, the French carmaker has claimed.

Citroen has revealed a wealth of information about the forthcoming motor and explained that those looking to get behind the wheel will experience a pilot theme in the cabin.

"This exciting addition to the distinctive DS line is the ultimate new flagship model for Citroen. With an audacious approach to design, well-being and refinement, Ds5 appeals to customers looking for a resolutely modern and original approach to the premium executive car," the firm said.

"Inspired by the striking C-SportLounge concept car, Ds5 completes the current DS line. An instantly recognisable range, the DS line appeals to both the emotional and rational decision-making process of today's car buyer."

The Ds5 is the big brother of the hugely-popular Ds3, which has taken the WRC by storm, and is the first production Citroen to boast a Hybrid4 full-hybrid diesel 200bhp engine.

Citroen has confirmed that new car will be on sale from April 2nd this year.
