Citroen has announced the acquisition of another new team member as it bids for WRC domination in 2012.

The Citroen Racing Team will be taken forward by Yves Matton after he was named as the new team principal.

Matton took up his post yesterday (January 5th) and replaces Olivier Quesnel as team boss and will look to continue the French carmaker's recent success in the sport.

Commenting on the appointment, Frederic Banzet, Citroen general manager, said: "I would like to thank Olivier Quesnel for the job he's done in his four years as Citroen Racing Team Principal.

"Under his management, Citroen has won the Manufacturers' and Drivers' and Co-Drivers' Championship titles every year with Sebastien Loeb and Daniel Elena. Yves Matton's task will be to maintain Citroen Racing's high level of excellence."

Citroen has been busy in the off season, having added Thierry Neuville, Nasser Al-Attiyah and Sebastien Loeb to its driving roster.
