Dacia Spring Earns Value Accolade
The Dacia Spring has been named as the ‘Best EV Bargain’ in the annual Electric Awards carried out by Top Gear magazine.
The Spring, which is available for under £15,000 and is the cheapest new electric car currently on sale in the UK, was named amongst the category winners for a second successive year, having been crowned the winner of ‘EV Deal of the Century’ twelve months ago.
Targeting those living in an urban environment, the Spring is available with a choice of two different electric motors and provides combined range of up to 140 miles.
However, used exclusively in the city, such as for a daily commute, that figure can increase to more than 180 miles which would enable many commuters to complete a full week of work without the need to recharge.
When charging is required, the Spring can go from flat to 80% charge in under 60 minutes.
“When we launched Spring, we rewrote the EV rulebook,” Dacia UK brand director Luke Broad said.
“While others are now trying to follow these rules, it’s great that TopGear.com recognises we remain both the original and best value brand on the market. Spring’s price is so competitive that it’s one of the UK’s most affordable cars full stop, which is even more remarkable when its usability and standard equipment are considered.”
