Dunfermline Technician Reaches Final Of National Hyundai Skills Olympics

A top technician from Dunfermline proudly represented the region on a national stage after securing a coveted place in the finals of the 2025 Hyundai UK Skills Olympics.
Carl Croome, who works at Vertu Hyundai Dunfermline, was one of only twelve Expert and Master Technicians across the UK to reach the final, which took place at the Hyundai Academy in High Wycombe in June. The Skills Olympics was a highly competitive event celebrating technical excellence and innovation in Hyundai’s aftersales network.
The competition pushed participants to their limits over two intensive days, with the overall winner earning the opportunity to represent the UK at the World Skills Olympics in Korea later in the year.
Unfortunately, Carl just missed out on the top spot but was commended by judges for his ability and enthusiasm.
Robert Forrester, Chief Executive of Vertu, said: “I am delighted that Carl made it through to the 2025 Hyundai UK Skills Olympics, a celebration of technical excellence, innovation, and the very best of Hyundai’s aftersales talent.
“He stood out from a nationwide pool of experts and earned his place in Hyundai’s most prestigious skills competition. He was very unlucky not to make it through to the international round. We are incredibly proud of him and look forward to supporting him to continue progress his career with Vertu.”
Carl followed in the footsteps of Liam Hendry, also from Vertu Hyundai Dunfermline, who won the UK title in 2024.
