Craig Jones, based within the Vertu Jaguar Land Rover division, has been named Company Colleague of the Year by the UK’s fourth largest automotive retailer Vertu Motors plc.
Craig has received the Tom Fairgrieve Award, which honours the memory of Tom Fairgrieve, one of Vertu’s founding directors in 2006.
Tom played a pivotal role in leading the Ford division in the Group’s early days and integrating the first Honda businesses. He was a brilliant operator who lived Vertu’s Values and demonstrated exceptional leadership skills before sadly passing away from cancer a few years into Vertu’s journey.
Craig has made a significant contribution not only to the JLR division but also to the wider Group Finance function over the last 12 months and for many years before that.
Already highly respected for his detailed knowledge of the Group and the quality of his work, Craig expanded his impact by taking on several additional responsibilities, including coaching and mentoring other Divisional Finance Directors and contributing valuable operational input to finance efficiency project calls.
He also delivered the finance hub strategy within the JLR Division through the successful implementation of a new hub at Leeds Land Rover.
Craig’s ability to step up, maintain professionalism, and deliver outstanding performance has solidified his reputation as an exceptional Divisional Finance Director and a key part of the Group’s senior management team.
Craig Jones said: "This award is a real honour. Finance is often behind the scenes, but the impact we make is felt across the business. Over the past year, we’ve focused on improving clarity, efficiency, and collaboration, and I’m proud of how the team has risen to every challenge. It’s rewarding to see that effort recognised."
Robert Forrester, Chief Executive of Vertu, said: "Craig’s depth of knowledge and ability to deliver under pressure make him an invaluable asset to the Group. His leadership and commitment to continuous improvement are exactly what this award is designed to acknowledge.
“He’s played a critical role in shaping the financial strength of the business."
