Full Renault EV Range Given ECG Discount

Every new electric car in the Renault range will now benefit from the government’s Electric Car Grant after confirmation of the latest raft of models that have secured eligibility for the discount.
The Renault 4, Renault 5, Megane and Scenic have all been classified in Band 2 to earn a discount of £1,500 off the list price.
Renault revealed that the discount ‘will be applied to all orders taken from 16th July’ and comes on top of additional savings that are available.
As a result of deposit contributions of up to £1,500 on the Renault 4, Renault 5 and the Scenic, it means potential savings could be as much as £3,000 for those looking to get behind the wheel of one of the respective models.
“We have been asking Government to match its environmental ambition with action to accelerate demand for electric vehicles, and it has delivered on that with the creation of the Electric Car Grant (ECG),” Renault UK managing director Adam Wood said
“As a pioneer in electric vehicles, Renault has long been a champion of sustainable mobility, and it is pleasing to see every 100% electric model in our line-up qualify for the Electric Car Grant, including our recent Car of The Year winners Renault 5 and Renault Scenic.
“Moving forward, it is critical that manufacturers, charging infrastructure providers and Government continue to collaborate as a team to build the required electric vehicle ecosystem, building on the positivity that this latest scheme injects into the market.”
The Alpine A290, which is based on the Renault 5, will also benefit from the discount.
