Honda To Showcase City EV At Goodwood

Honda has revealed that it will use the upcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed to showcase a new concept car that hints at a potential return to the City-focused EV market.

The Super EV Concept will head up the Goodwood Hillclimb for its first public appearance anywhere in the world, with the car having been designed to show how an A-segment model can offer ‘fun-to-drive’ electric motoring.

The car has already undergone feasibility testing in the UK, which Honda says is part of a ‘wider global programme’.

Should the Super EV make it into production, it would become the smallest electric car in the Honda range – with the B-segment Honda E having been the previous entry level model before it was removed from sale.

No further details on the model have been confirmed.

The Super EV will be joined on the Hillclimb by the upcoming Honda Prelude e:HEV hybrid and the recently-announced Honda Civic Type R Ultimate Edition – which has been launched to mark the car being withdrawn from sale in the European market.

Honda’s stand will also see a European debut for the new 0 SUV Prototype, with the EV Fun and Urban EV concept motorcycles also making an appearance.

“Our business is about more than our products alone, but how our customers feel when they are using them, and this has been the inspiration behind our stand design this year. I look forward to seeing everyone visiting us and experiencing our brand across the four days.”
