Hyundai has reported strong sales of its used vehicles this month, bucking the usual trend of reduced demand in August.

According to the manufacturer, it recently sold all of its cars in an online dealer auction for higher than expected prices.

Overall, 39 dealers bought used cars at an average of 105 per cent CAP Clean, supporting the claim that demand for the company's vehicles has not dropped.

The new Hyundai ix35 proved particularly popular among dealers, with the five models selling online at 113 per cent CAP Clean.

Gary Spurdens, national remarketing manager at Hyundai Motor UK, commented that the news reinforces the popularity of the firm's models, including the Hyundai I10 and Hyundai I20.

"August is not historically a strong month for used car sales, as dealers clear their forecourts for the part exchanges they expect to generate from September new car activity," Mr Spurdens added.
