Kia has revealed an all-new SUV that is set to arrive in the UK for the first time in 2026, and which WON’T be offered with an electric powertrain.

The second-generation Seltos is the latest version of one of the best-selling Kia models on a global basis and will sit below the Sportage in the line-up.

Based on the same K3 platform as the slightly smaller Niro, the Seltos will be offered with either a 2.0 litre petrol engine producing just under 150bhp or two versions of a 1.6 litre turbo-charged engine that will provide up to 192bhp.

Which engines are offered in the UK is still be confirmed, although it is expected that the two turbo-powered options are most likely, with a hybrid powertrain then following on at a later date.

“The Kia Seltos has always represented best-in-class value, and the next generation model builds on that legacy with an enriched offering that resonates with the diverse passions of our customers,” Kia president and CEO Ho Sung Song said.

“Its expanded global presence and abundant practical and stylish features underline Kia’s commitment to meeting diverse mobility needs worldwide.”

The Seltos will be available in X-Line and GT-Line trim and in ‘three standout colours’ — Iceberg Green, Gravity Gray and a bold matte Magma Red — from launch.

A raft of driver assistance systems will come as standard, including the likes of highway driving assist and forward collision avoidance, whilst the Seltos will offer a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, reclining second row seats, premium audio systems and class leading boot space of up to 536 litres with the rear seats in place.

Full details on specifications for the UK, and pricing, is yet to be revealed.
