Kia has announced a new entry level addition to the range of the all-electric EV6, which means the model is now available at under £40,000.

The new Air model, when fitted with a 63.0kWh standard range battery, will be offered at £39,235 which comes under the threshold that triggers an additional tax payment of £425 for the first five years.

The Air will also sit in a lower insurance group to reduce running costs still further.

Up to 256m miles of range if offered on the WLTP combined cycle, with the ability to charge from 10-to-80% in as little as 18 minutes from a 350kW DC charger.

The Air is also available with a larger 84.0kWH battery but that takes pricing above the £40,000 mark

As with the rest of the range the EV6 Air comes with Kia's seven-year, 100,000-mile warranty (8-year, 100,000-mile warranty for EV battery and motor).
