Kia Reveals Updated Sportage
Kia has revealed the latest version of the Sportage ahead of it being launched in the UK later this year.
The new version of the Sportage will be offered as a petrol or hybrid at launch, with a plug-in option expected to follow at a later date.
The petrol option will be powered by a 1.6 litre engine producing 148bhp, with the addition of the electric motor in the hybrid boosting performance to 236bhp. The petrol car is offered with either a manual or electric gearbox, with the hybrid being automatic only but available in both front and all-wheel drive.
Described as ‘the most refined Sportage ever’ by Kia Europe COO Sjoerd Knipping, the latest version of the car is slightly larger than the existing model and features a number of design tweaks – most notably with the introduction of column headlights seen on the EV9.
Inside there is a new design to the steering wheel and a revised operating system that works on a 12.3-inch curved panoramic display and a new 10-inch head-up display.
The petrol version of the car provides 562 litres of boot space, which increases to 587 litres in the hybrid.
