Mercedes has unveiled the latest version of the popular GLC model, which is set to arrive in showrooms next year as the latest EV in the range.

The GLC has been the top performing model from Mercedes on a global basis for a number of years after first being launched back in 2016, with the current model going on sale in 2022.

The new all-electric GLC has been totally redesigned from the ground up and will be the latest Mercedes to provide drivers with a potential range in excess of 400 miles, with the most efficient model expected to provide around 440 miles of motoring on a full charge.

A large chrome grill at the front and full-width light bar at the rear means the electric GLC stands apart visually from its ICE counterparts, whilst the model will also be slightly larger – coming in at 84mm longer.

That means more legroom and headroom for both front and rear passengers, with the boot providing 570 litres of luggage space with the seats in place, which expands to 1,740 when they are folded.

An additional 128 litres of space is then available via the frunk under the bonnet.

The new GLC will also benefit from a raft of new technologies, which includes an intelligent air suspension system similar to that found on the S-Class to provide increased levels of comfort alongside a One-Box braking system and driver assistance features that benefit from no fewer than ten external cameras, five radar sensors and twelve ultrasonic sensors.

On the inside, the MBUX HYPERSCREEN will be the largest screen found to date in a Mercedes model and runs across the dashboard, with the MB.OS operating system controlling all of the key infotainment and safety systems.

This AI-driven superbrain connects to the Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Cloud to allow over-the-air updates of the entire software, of the vehicle moving forwards.
