Micra, Ariya Become First Nissans To Qualify For ECG

The Nissan Micra and the Nissan Arriya will both benefit from savings of £1,500 under the government’s Electric Car Grant.
The two models are the first from the Nissan range to be named on the list of cars eligible for the ECG, albeit at the lower rate.
The Micra will now be available from £21,495 as a result of the grant, compared to the original pricing that was recently announced.
The Ariya wasn’t expected to be part of the ECG due to its list price, but revised pricing will be confirmed on 13 August that brings the entry level model below £37,000 – which is when it will then become eligible for the £1,500 discount.
It is expected that the upcoming Nissan LEAF, which will be built in Sunderland, will also be eligible for the grant, and will be given the full discount of £3,750.
“With the grant confirmed today, we are thrilled to see Micra and Ariya becoming even better value for our customers,” James Taylor, Nissan GB managing director, said.
“Micra will now start at a highly competitive £21,495 and will be available to order from next month. This will be joined by three new models including the third generation British-built LEAF later this year and the Juke in 2026, also coming from our Sunderland plant.
“We can’t wait to see the reactions of UK customers as they get to experience these exciting fully electric new cars.”
