The MINI Countryman Electric has become the newest addition to the Electric Car Grant introduced by the government to help boost the move over to EVs.
The Countryman is the first model from the MINI line-up to be given grant status, with the car being placed into Band 2.
That means a discount of £1,500 will be offered against qualifying variants of the model, with E and SE-spec cars both eligible.
However, a change to the regulations that states that vehicles priced at more than £42,000 can no longer be considered for the grant means certain higher-spec E and SE trim cars will not be eligible for the discount.
Both the Cooper and Aceman are not currently part of the official Electric Car Grant Scheme.
