Nissan Takes The Covers Off All-New LEAF
Nissan has revealed the latest version of the LEAF, which will be available for customers to order later this year.
The reimagined, all-electric model is one of three new EV models that were announced by Nissan earlier this year, with a new Micra also hitting showrooms before the end of 2025 and a smaller city car set to follow next year.
The third generation version of a car that was one of the first mainstream, mass-produced EVs will be produced at Nissan’s Sunderland plant, with batteries coming from AESC – which is located next to the factory in the North East.
Unlike previous versions of the car, the new LEAF will adopt an SUV design where the focus has been firmly on efficiency, with a tear drop shape creating strong aerodynamics whilst also ensuring plenty of interior space – including a 437l boot.
The long-range battery option will provide range of up to 375 miles, with the ability to charge from 20-80 per cent in under half an hour.
“It’s with immense pride that we unveil the third-generation of our pioneering electric LEAF, twelve years after we brought EV and battery manufacturing to the UK,” Alan Johnson, Senior Vice President of Manufacturing & Supply Chain Management at Nissan Motor Manufacturing, said:
“It’s a testament to the skill of our world-class team that we can bring into mass production a vehicle with such advanced technology and aerodynamic design. We can’t wait to see it on the roads.”
