The Renault 5 E-Tech has secured another award after being named as Best Electric Small Car at the What Car? Electric Car Awards.

The Renault 5 was named as Car of the Year by the magazine earlier this year and also picked up the European Car of the Year title.

The latter win marked the second successive title for Renault after the Scenic E-Tech came out on top in 2024.

The Renault 5 provides up to 250 miles of range and fast charging that enables the battery to be charged from 15-80% in around half an hour.

Prices for the Renault 5 now start at under £22,000 after the car was given Band 2 status under the government’s Electric Car Grant.

“This recognition from a respected customer champion like What Car? further proves that Renault 5 is changing the way Britain thinks about electric cars,” Adam Wood, Managing Director, Renault UK, said.

“R5 proves that EVs can be desirable, fun and accessible, possessing all the qualities to become a new icon for the electric era.”
