Renault Adds New Powertrains To Symbioz, Captur Line-Up

Renault has confirmed that both the Symbioz and Captur models are now available with new powertrains that will improve efficiency across the respective ranges.

Both models will be available with a new full hybrid E-Tech 160 powertrain, with the Symbioz also now offered with a mild hybrid 140 petrol engine.

The new full hybrid e-tech 160 powertrain will see a 1.8 litre petrol engine married to a 1.4kWh battery, with prices starting from £25,195 OTR for the Captur and £29,795 OTR for the Symbioz.

Whilst the new powertrain will provide more opportunities to run in electric-only mode and improve fuel consumption, it also increases towing capacity for both models by 250kg.

The mild hybrid in the Symbioz will start from £27,395 OTR as an entry level into the model, with a 1.3 litre, turbo-charged engine alongside the mild hybrid helping to provide an impressive 47.9mpg.

Alongside the new engines, the Captur has also been handed new driver assistance systems, including an electric parking brake across the range, with Techno trim and above being given adaptive cruise control with speed limiter.

The top-spec esprit Alpine trim also gets various safety features – including lane centre assistance and blind spot recognition - as standard.
