Skoda has announced the addition of a new variant of the all-electric Enyaq, which will qualify for a discount under the Electric Car Grant.
The SE L 85 will slot into the current range below the Edition 85 model and offers up to 359 miles of range thanks to a larger battery than the one found in the SE L 60 and the Edition 60 – both of which were already grant-qualifying.
Although a number of versions of the smaller Elroq are available under the ECG with the larger battery, the SE L 85 is the only Enyaq that qualifies as a result of the introduction of a higher price limit of £42,000.
The SE L 85 will be available from £41,980 OTR before the Band 2 discount of £1,500 is applied.
As well as offering greater range than the other qualifying Enyaq models, the SE L 85 will support rapid charging at speeds of up to 135kW, meaning drivers can go from 10-80% charge in under half an hour.
Standard equipment will include 19 inch alloy wheels, a 13-inch touchscreen to control the infotainment system and predictive adapative cruise control, whilst an option package is available that adds LED matrix beam and electrically adjustable driver’s seat with memory function – amongst other things.
The addition of the option package will however take the car above the £42,000 threshold to be eligible for the grant.
