Three EVs in the Peugeot line-up have been given Band 2 status under the government’s Electric Car Grant, with the manufacturer revealing plans to offer discounts on a number of other electric vehicles.

The E-208, E-2008 and E-RIFTER will all benefit from the government scheme with immediate savings of £1,500 having been put in place.

It means the E-208 is now available for under £29,000 as the entry level to the Peugeot EV range.

Further models from Peugeot are expected to be added to the government list but the manufacturer will offer a pre-emptive discount of £1,500 on the E-408, E-308, and the E-308 SW.

The discount will also be offered against the E-TRAVELLER when it becomes available in October.

“Peugeot already offers the most extensive electric line-up of any mainstream brand in Europe, and the Electric Car Grant makes the move to electric even more accessible on E-208, E-2008 and E-RIFTER,” Nicola Dobson, PEUGEOT UK Managing Director, said.

“To present our customers with the best possible offers, we’re also applying it to the new E-408, E-308, E-308 SW and E-TRAVELLER ahead of official confirmation. We welcome this UK Government initiative to give consumers confidence and lower the barrier to EV ownership.”
