Vauxhall has launched a search for the oldest car in the UK bearing the Griffin badge in a bid to mark the first anniversary of its market leading warranty scheme.

The extended warranty, which Vauxhall claims is the only car warranty that can last a lifetime, is now one year old and the manufacturer is looking for a car to help it celebrate.

Vauxhall's warranty provides first registered keepers with no upper time limit until the car has covered 100,000 miles.

To highlight the appeal of the scheme, Vauxhall is inviting owners to come forward if their car is still road legal, has covered less than 100,000 miles and has been owned by the same person from the date of first registration.

Duncan Aldred, Vauxhall's managing director, said: "There s huge loyalty among our owners. And for average-mileage customers who plan to keep their new Vauxhalls for the medium to long term, Lifetime Warranty is a valuable and reassuring asset for as long as they own the car.

"No other manufacturer has been able to offer such complete peace of mind for their customers."
