A new plug-in hybrid (PHEV) option has been added to the Vauxhall Grandland range to join the existing petrol and electric models already available.

Coming at a time when PHEV sales are at an all-time high in the UK, the Vauxhall Grandland PHEV will be offered at the same price as the standard hybrid, with prices starting at £36,615 OTR.

The Grandland PHEV combines a 1.6-litre petrol engine with a generously sized 21kWh battery capable of 117.7mpg and significantly reduced CO2 emission outputs.

Capable of travelling up to 51-miles on electric power alone, according to Vauxhall, the Grandland PHEV sizes up competitively to the likes of the new MGS9 PHEV and BYD Seal U DM-i.

Aesthetically, the Grandland PHEV gets the same handsome look as its stablemates, which are typified by its bold Vizor front grille and illuminated ‘Vauxhall’ badging at the rear.

Three trims– Design, GS and Ultimate – are offered, with the Grandland PHEV’s price at each level matching the equivalent that of the standard hybrid.
