Vertu Motors has strengthened its renewable energy rollout with the installation of a 122kWp solar PV system at its Ascot Mercedes-Benz dealership, delivered by EnergyForce.
The new rooftop array will cut the site’s energy costs and support the charging of electric vehicles using clean, renewable electricity - a capability that is increasingly vital as the UK accelerates its transition away from internal combustion engines.
EnergyForce, which has completed hundreds of dealership installations nationwide, fitted the system while the Ascot showroom and workshop remained fully operational.
The installation adds to Vertu Motors’ growing portfolio of solar- enabled dealerships as it continues to enhance both environmental performance and operational efficiency across the business.
The 122kWp system will generate the equivalent of around 4,000–4,500 kettle boils every day – or enough clean electricity each year to power around 40-45 average UK households - contributing a substantial share of the dealership’s electricity needs throughout the year.
Robert Forrester, Chief Executive of Vertu Motors, said: “We are investing steadily across our network because producing energy on our own sites helps us operate more sustainably and more economically.
“Systems like the one at Ascot enable us to charge vehicles with clean electricity and reduce pressure on the grid. As the industry moves further towards electric mobility, this kind of capability becomes increasingly important.”
Martin Bleasby, Managing Director of EnergyForce, said: “Our approach is built around understanding exactly how dealerships function. It means we can install significant renewable energy systems while the site continues to serve customers as normal.
“The Ascot project shows how effective planning and careful execution can make a major upgrade feel almost invisible to the business.”
