BYD has confirmed further details on the upcoming SEAL 6 DM-i, with customer deliveries set to begin before the end of the year.
The model will be available in both saloon and estate form, and joins the SEAL U DM-i in BYD’s hybrid line-up.
The saloon will be available from £33,990 with the estate version starting from £34,900, with both variants offered in two different grades: Boost and Comfort.
The SEAL 6 DM-i saloon will be able to do 87 miles of all-electric driving with a potential range of more than 900 miles, with the SEAL 6 DM-i Touring capable of up to 81 miles of electric motoring with a range of just under 840 miles.
The latter will be the first BYD estate model to arrive in Europe and provides 500 litres of boot space, which can increase to a huge 1,535 litres when the rear seats are folded.
Boost models will come with a 12.8-inch touchscreen with smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with extensive safety features including rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, Blind Spot Detection and Driver Fatigue Management.
Comfort grade builds on this specification with 15.6-inch multimedia touchscreen and a 6.6kW on-board charger, whilst safety systems are enhanced with a 360-degree camera.
