The best options for anyone looking to tow a caravan have been revealed after the Caravan and Motorhome Club Towcar of the Year 2026 was revealed.
After nearly 40 different models were evalutated at the Millbrook Proving Ground, winners in various categories were confirmed after undergoing a range of different tests to explore its suitability.
These tests, carried out across four days, included how the car performed with a caravan attached and were also designed to show how it could deal with all the equipment that would be needed to take a caravan holiday.
Having come out on top in two different classes, the Volkswagen Passat R-Line 2.0 TSI 204PS DSG came out on top overall having been ‘overwhelmingly voted’ as the best performer by a panel of expert judges.
The Skoda Enyaq and Nissan Ariya were amongst the other category winners.

- Caravan weight 1700kg - 1800kg: BMW X3 M50
- Caravan weight 1800kg - 2000kg: Porsche Macan Electric
