MG has added another all-electric model to its UK line-up after confirming that the all-new MGS6 is now available to order.

The model is the third in the range – after the MG4 and the MGS5 – to be based on MG’s ‘Modular Scalable Platform’, and is set to go up against the likes of the Volkswagen ID.4 and Skoda Enyaq on the electric family SUV market.

The MGS6 will be powered by a 77kWh battery and offered in three different trim levels, with maximum range of 329 miles. Euro NCAP has already awarded the car a five star safety rating.

On the inside, the MGS6 offers plenty of space for families with a 674 litre boot, which can be expanded to more than 1,900 litres when the rear seats are folded. A frunk at the front of the car adds an additional 124 litres of storage.

Pricing is set to start at £37,995 and will rise up to £43,995.

“The MGS6 EV is a significant new offering from MG, and our eighth all-electric car to be launched in our UK home market, building on proven cars like the MG4 EV hatchback but also drawing inspiration from our premium MGs like the dramatic Cyberster convertible,” David Allison, Head of Product and Planning for MG Motor UK said.

“MG’s overall experience and knowledge as one of the best-selling EV manufacturers, with over 100,000 cars delivered to UK customers, ensures drivers get a stylish SUV that stands apart from the crowd.”

The range will start with the MGS6 EV SE Long Range, with the MGS6 EV Trophy Long Range being the middle option available. Both offer the same 329 miles of range and come with rear wheel drive, with the latter having a more expansive list of equipment included as standard.

The MGS6 EV Trophy Dual Motor sits at the top of the range with an increased level of power and all-wheel drive, although maximum range drops to 301 miles.

All three models can charge from 10 to 80 percent in 38 minutes using rapid public chargers and feature five distinct drive modes.
