MG will expand its electric hatchback range with the launch of the new MG4 EV Urban, which will slot in below the existing MG4 EV.

The latest addition to MG’s rapidly growing electric vehicle line-up, the MG4 EV Urban represents a new entry-point for its zero emissions range with prices set to start at £23,495.

While it shares its name and running gear with the multi award-winning MG4 EV, the Urban swaps its sibling’s sharp lines for softer, more contemporary curves from front to back.

Full specifications for the MG4 EV Urban will be announced further down the line, but the British-based marque has confirmed a combination of three trims/batteries will be offered from launch.

The Comfort Standard Range begins at £23,495 – easily undercutting rivals like the VW ID.3, BYD Atto 2 EV and the forthcoming Kia EV2 – while the Comfort Long Range comes in at £25,495 and the flagship Premium Long Range is £27,995.

MG4 EV Also Gets a Nip-and-Tuck for 2026

Not to be outdone, ‘the OG’ MG4 EV has also gone under the knife for a timely refresh to coincide with the unveiling of its Urban sibling.

Key changes include a reprofiled front-end, complete with new headlight arrangement and curved nose section, while the some of the MG4’s sharper edges have been smoothed out in the latest round of updates.

It too will offer a three-strong range, with trims and batteries growing to reposition the MG4 EV as a more upmarket electric hatchback, leaving room for the Urban to pitch itself as the cost-efficient option.

The entry-level Premium Long Range will start at £29,995, with the Premium Extended Range – which can achieve upwards of 338-miles of range - tagged at £32,995. The racy, hot hatch-inspired XPOWER comes in a £33,995.

Both models come with MG’s 7-year/80,000-mile warranty as standard.
