Plymouth Argyle slipped to defeat against EFL Championship leaders Leicester City, with the Vertu Motors-backed side putting up a better fight than the end result may have suggested.

Argyle went into the game fresh from a dramatic victory against Stoke, with Adam Randell celebrating his 100th appearance for the club with a 97th minute winner.

Plymouth made a number of changes for the game and fell behind after quarter of an hour when Stephy Mavididi was fouled in the box and stepped up to convert the penalty.

Mustapha Bundu and Callum Wright both had chances for the Pilgrims but Leicester then hit three quick goals after the break through Patson Daka, Mavididi and Wilfred Ndidi to wrap up a 4-0 victory.

Whilst that meant a comfortable win on paper, Plymouth would actually have more shots at goal than the league leaders and more corners - showing there were plenty of positives to take away from the game despite the result seeing Argyle slip to 18th in the table.

Next up is a trip to QPR before a home game against Rotherham United.
