The new Renault 4 E-Tech – which follows in the footsteps of the smaller 5 E-Tech sporty hatchback in reviving an iconic nameplate for the electric era – claimed the Best Small Family Car title before going on to be named overall winner.
The 4 E-Tech’s double awards win was further complemented by similar success for the Renault 5 E-Tech, which was named Best First Car, and the Renault Scenic E-Tech, which landed the Best Medium Family Car mantle.
It comes a year after the Renault Scenic E-Tech was named Parkers Car of the Year 2025, making the 4 E-Tech’s success on this occasion the first time a manufacturer has scooped the top prize two years in a row.
The foundation of the all-electric 4 E-Tech’s success was laid by Parkers’ judging panel noting how it combines the practical strengths of the Scenic with the playful attitude of the 5.
Indeed, the small-SUV was praised for being ‘characterful, practical and genuinely attainable’, as well as ‘cleverly packaged and surprisingly roomy for a small family’.
Keith Adams, Editor of Parkers, says: “Renault has absolutely nailed it this year. The 4 E-Tech takes everything we loved about the 5 and adds more space and maturity, while the Scenic and 5 E-Tech continue to inject some desirability into their classes.
“Across the range, Renault proves that EVs can be desirable, attainable and practical – cars that feel perfectly tuned into everyday life.”
The Renault 4 E-Tech is one of four models in the Renault range – along with the Renault 5, Megane and Scenic – to have been granted Band 2 status under the Electric Car Grant. As such, business and private buyers are able to benefit from savings of £1,500 against a new model.
