Renault is celebrating a record-breaking year of awards that saw every EV in the range pick up at least one accolade.
In total, Renault earned an astonishing 83 awards for both its passenger cars and its range of light commercial vehicles, with the Renault 5 E-Tech proving to be a resounding success following its introduction.
The compact EV picked up no fewer than 30 individual awards, headlined by being named as the winner of the European Car of the Year alongside its sister model; the Alpine A290.
It wasn’t the only famous nameplate to be reborn by the French manufacturer and gain widespread acclaim, with the Renault 4 earning a raft of awards itself, including being named as Electric Car of the Year by TopGear.com.
Both the Scenic and the Megane were also honoured, with the Twingo also recognised before the model has even gone on sale.
“These awards cap a momentous year for us and we are grateful for every single one,” Renault UK managing director Adam Wood said. “At a time when car buyers have never had so much choice, we are proud that Renault’s product line-up is recognised as class-leading by so many independent experts.
“Surpassing last year’s record number of awards demonstrates the momentum building at Renault. A huge thank you to everyone for the recognition – it means a lot to everyone at Renault Group across the world.”
