The SEAT Ibiza and SEAT Arona have been given a substantial facelift for the new model year with updates to the exterior design and interior materials.
Having shifted more than six million units since the nameplate was launched in 1985, the SEAT Ibiza supermini has been an integral part of the Spanish manufacturer’s legacy for 40 years now.
Today, the Ibiza remains a crucial model in SEAT’s range, where it sits alongside the Leon, Arona and Ateca in the firm’s model line-up.
While buyer tastes have shifted away from supermini models like the Ibiza in recent years, the launch of the SEAT Arona in 2017 has also given the manufacturer a big hit in the small-SUV sector, with 750,000 models sold since.
As such, the latest round of updates have arrived to inject some vigour into a SEAT range that is being positioned towards a younger, value-orientated demographic while the firm’s spin-off brand – CUPRA – focuses on the larger, more premium end of the market.
In a supermini class where many rivals have been discontinued – like the Ford Fiesta and Kia Rio – or repositioned – like the Citroen C3 – the SEAT Ibiza retains its handsomely familiar compact hatchback silhouette.
An understated reworking of the front-end introduces a fresh hexagonal grille and reprofiled, slimmer LED headlights, while new bumper designs give the Ibiza a more dynamic appearance. SEAT has also introduced new alloy wheel designs across the range, as well as fresh colourways.
The new SEAT Arona adopts a similar re-design at the front, bringing it more into line with the Ibiza than the model is succeeds.
At the rear, the Arona’s profile – defined by its striking sweeping window line and two-tone roof colour – keeps it looking distinctive on the road.
Inside, the Ibiza and Arona boast new materials and textiles to complement a functional interior that remains largely unchanged from its well-received predecessor. Highlights include a 100% premium perforated leather steering wheel and the option of a SEAT Sound system with six speakers and a 300W amplifier.
Under the skin, the engine range remains unchanged with two power outputs – 95PS and 115PS - for the 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine and the 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder generating 150PS available.
The new SEAT Ibiza and SEAT Arona will be available to order from Vertu SEAT dealerships from December 2025 in preparation for deliveries in January 2026.
