Skoda is celebrating a double success at the What Car? Electric Car Awards after both the Elroq and the Enyaq were named amongst the winners.

The Elroq saw off competition from the likes of the Renault Scenic and Kia EV3 to take the title of Best Electric Family SUV, with the 85 Edition being named as best option for families given the fact that it has the longest range.

“Thanks to a tight turning circle, the Elroq feels nimble around town,” WhatCar? Editor Steve Huntingford said. “But it's actually good to drive at any speed, thanks to a well-controlled ride, composed handling and smoother, more reassuring brakes than you get with most rivals.

“Add in a fine driving position, plenty of space for five, and a big range if you go for our recommended version, and it's a fantastic car to live with.”

The larger Enyaq meanwhile took top honours for being the Best Used Electric Family SUV, having proven to be hugely popular since being introduced to the market.

“If you're looking to buy used rather than new, no other electric family SUV comes close to providing the all-round ability and exceptional value of a used Enyaq,” Huntingford continued. “No matter which version you go for, it's a comfortable, practical and well-equipped choice.”

Both models are now part of the government Electric Car Grant, with discounts of £1,500 off selected cars across the respective ranges.
