Tom Lammonby scored his third half-century of the County Championship season as Somerset retained their unbeaten start with a fourth successive draw.

The opening day of the game in Kidderminster had looked to be going the way of rivals Worcestershire when a mid-inning spell with the ball from Jason Holder ripped the heart out of the Somerset batting order - with Andrew Umeed, James Rew and Lewis Gregory all dismissed in the space of twelve balls.

It left Somerset struggling on 181-6 but Tom Banton - who took Man of the Match honours - came close to a century with an impressive 92 and was helped along by Migael Pretorius as he hit 49 before Somerset declared on 309-9.

The gave five overs to attack the Worcestershire openers but they survived to the end of the day on 14-0 before most of day two was lost to rain - although Jake Libby was able to pass 50 as the home side moved on to 107 for the loss of a single wicket.

Libby would fall to Shoaib Bashir for 97 but only after putting on nearly 200 for the second wicket with Gareth Roderick - who would go on to secure a century with 122 as Worcestershire raced to 451-9 to secure a lead of 142.

Sean Dickson was dismissed for a duck to leave Somerset on 5-1 going into the final day, with the need to try and secure a draw given the loss of play on the second day had all-but-ended hopes of pushing for a win.

With Matt Renshaw and night watchman Jake Ball having been dismissed to leave Somerset on 66-3, Lammonby stepped up with a mature knock of 81 not out, with assistance from Andy Umeed steering the visitors to 190-4 to secure a draw and 13 points.

It means Somerset remain fourth in the standings going into the next round of fixtures.
