Vauxhall Models Secure Band 2 Status Under ECG

The full range of electric cars offered by Vauxhall have been added to the list of models that are eligible for the government Electric Car Grant.

Electric versions of the Corsa, Mokka, Frontera, Astra, Astra Sports Tourer, Grandland and Combo Life Electric have all been handed Band 2 status under the qualifying criteria, which will mean savings of £1,500 off the list price for private buyers.

Official confirmation of ECG qualification follows on from Vauxhall revealing that it would offer a pre-emptive discount of £1,500 last week and is on top of an additional deposit contribution of up to £1,500.

The level of deposit contribution is driven by the size of the deposit being put down by the customer.

Customers will also continue to benefit from Vauxhall’s ‘Electric All In’ package offered alongside Octopus Energy, whereby people who switch to the Intelligent Octopus GO tariff  will benefit from 10,000 miles of electric driving.

There is also an offering of £500 either towards the installation of a Ohme home wallbox or towards public charging credit.

“Vauxhall has been committed to electrifying Britain for years and offers some of the most popular electric cars on UK roads,” Vauxhall managing director Steve Catlin said.

“We welcome the support of the Electric Car Grant for every electric model in the Vauxhall line-up - including those manufactured here at our Ellesmere Port plant - and hope this will enable more British motorists to enjoy the benefits of switching to electric.”
