Kia has now fully revealed the all-new and all-electric EV6, along with a new design philosophy for all future vehicles.

Built on the company's new EV platform, the EV6 is Kia's first dedicated Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV). Kia's new EV platform (Electric-Global Modular Platform, or E-GMP), is set to revolutionise the electric market.

The EV6 has been designed under Kia's new design philosophy 'Opposites United', which takes inspiration from the contrasts found in nature and humanity.

Kia Corporation have declared: 'At the centre of the design philosophy is a new visual identity evoking positive forces and natural energy, with contrasting combinations of sharp stylish elements and sculptural shapes.'

Exterior

The EV6 boasts a future-orientated EV design characterised by high-tech details.

At the front, characteristic daytime running lights give off a sleek, modern appearance. They form part of the EV6's 'Digital Tiger Face' - a design evolution of Kia's 'Tiger Nose Grille' for the electrified era.

Additionally, the design of the lamps includes a 'sequential' dynamic light pattern.

Beneath this, a low air intake visually widens the front of the car, accentuating its high-tech image. Kia has revealed that is part of the optimisation of air flow from the front; the air is channelled through and under the car's flat floor for optimum aerodynamics.

The side profile definitely says 'crossover' - it's clearly modern, sleek and aerodynamic. This contrasts with sharp lines and high-tech details to create a sense of tension in the design.

The car features aerodynamic design with black window trims and stylish alloy wheels. Surrounded by greenery on one side and open space on the other, suitable for advertising used cars or new cars.

A swept-back windshield provides dynamism and purpose, while bold rear haunches add volume. A character line runs along the bottom of the doors curving upwards towards the rear wheel arches, visually elongating the profile of the car.

Designed in part to realise ultimate aerodynamic performance, the rear displays a sloping C-pillar with an integrated black glossy insert, which visually widens the window glass. Above this sits a prominent roof spoiler that channels air down towards a raised lower spoiler that sits atop the car's unique rear light cluster.

Range

The new Kia EV6 offers buyers a choice of multiple fully-electric, zero-emission powertrain configurations, including long-range (77.4kWh) and standard-range (58.0kWh) high-voltage battery packs.

The EV6 GT-line is available with both long-range and standard-range battery packs, while EV6 GT features the long-range battery pack only.

The long-range Kia EV6 will offer up to 316 miles of range on a full charge.

Considering the average daily commute is around 30 miles, this is definitely more than enough to keep up.

Power

The all-new EV6 is Kia's first electric vehicle to be available with two-wheel (2WD) or all-wheel drive (AWD) options - the latter offering enhanced dynamic capability in even the most challenging driving conditions.

The standard-range EV6 will be capable of sprinting to 62mph from standstill in just 6.2 seconds, with a maximum 605Nm torque available on the AWD version.

With a maximum 605Nm torque available on the AWD version, the long-range EV6 will accelerate from 0 to 62mph in just 5.2 seconds.

Meanwhile, the EV6 GT variant bolts from 0 to 62mph in an incredible 3.5 seconds, hitting a top speed of 161mph.

Charge

The new EV6 will provide 800V and 400V charging capabilities, without the need for additional components or adapters.

The Kia EV6 is also capable of a high-speed charge from 10 to 80 per cent in just 18 minutes on all variations.

If you need an even quicker boost, a top-up charge of 62 miles of driving range can be achieved in less than four and a half minutes (when pairing 2WD with the 77.4kWh battery option).

This is all made possible at a most public charging points.

Interior

The all-new Kia EV6 offers a modern and spacious interior.

As further step into the future of electric vehicles, the EV6's interior design is enhanced by Kia's dedicated E-GMP platform, which offers even more space compared to previous Kia EVs based on existing model architecture.

From an incredibly contemporary looking infotainment system to sleek and smooth lines across premium materials, the cabin of the new EV6 appears inviting and relaxing.

In addition, the seats look slim, lightweight and modern, upholstered with quality yet visually interesting and robust fabrics. Kia has even revealed that the material was created using recycled plastics, which furthers the EV6's innovative sustainability.

Technology

One of the most striking elements of the new Kia EV6's interior is a seamless high-tech curved 12-inch high-definition audio visual and navigation (AVN) screen. This gives easy access to nearly everything you need to know about and operate within the EV6.

The minimalist simplicity of the wide curved screen and the slim dashboard give the space an open feel. Extending from the steering wheel across to the centre of the car, it displays an instrument cluster in front of the driver, with infotainment and navigation above the centre console.

Kia have commented on the design: 'The width of the screen creates an immersive experience for the driver, while a minimal number of physical buttons offer an uncluttered and soothing driving experience.'

Below the EV's AVN screen, both driver and front passenger have control of heating, ventilation and air conditioning settings by using haptic 'buttons'. Underneath this panel the dashboard slopes away towards the front of the car, creating an even greater sense of space and openness within the cabin.

The all-new EV6 introduces a suite of technologies that enhance safety, connectivity and infotainment. They are designed to make travelling safer, easier and less stressful.

The EV6 houses an augmented reality (AR) head-up display system, which projects driving information onto the base of the windscreen in the driver's line of sight.

The system displays alerts from the car's Advanced Driver Assistance System, details of vehicle speed, and turn-by-turn navigation instructions.

Safety

In addition, the new EV6 offers class-leading levels of safety and convenience thanks to its enhanced suite of driver assistance systems (ADAS). They help to reduce many of the inherent hazards and stresses of driving, protecting occupants and other road users on every journey.

The EV6's Advanced Driver Assistance System includes Highway Driving Assist 2 and Remote Smart Parking Assist.

From design to technology, it's clear that Kia's all-new EV6 is truly advanced.
